About
The Loudoun County Public Schools Program of Studies serves as an educational planning guide to help students and families make informed choices about the rigorous and exciting courses, programs, and pathways offered in Loudoun County Public Schools. The Program of Studies contains additional information to help students and families understand and prepare for Virginia's graduation requirements and assist students in planning and refining their Academic and Career Plan (ACP) to meet their educational and career goals.
Contained in the Program of Studies, students and families will find a variety of opportunities and pathways at the secondary level, including dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, and career and technical education courses. Additionally, the Program of Studies includes admission requirements and course information for the Academies of Loudoun, and special programs such as International Baccalaureate, Health and Medical Sciences, and Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. Students should use the Program of Studies, in collaboration with parent(s)/guardian, school counselors, and teachers, in preparing their plans.
To support each student in meeting their academic goals, LCPS pays for the first four AP exams that each enrolled LCPS student takes. The four exams are cumulative across the student's high school enrollment with payment required after the limit has been reached. Financial assistance for International Baccalaureate courses is still to be determined. If additional financial assistance is needed beyond the four exams, please contact your child’s school counselor or your school’s family liaison.
For additional questions or information about academic planning, course options, or special programs and pathways, please contact your school counselor.
