Leesburg Elementary School received a generous $5,000 donation from Burlington, in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, on October 18, 2024. The funds will help teachers purchase classroom supplies to support student learning and thriving.
Several members of the Leesburg Elementary administration, including Principal Shawn Lacey and Assistant Principal Dr. Elanyna Clokes, along with students and PTA representatives, were on hand for the presentation of an oversized check during a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Burlington store staff.
The donation was made in celebration of the grand opening of Burlington’s new Leesburg store. The funds will be used to ensure that students have access to essential learning materials and tools to succeed both now and in the future.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous contribution from Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org,” said Principal Lacey. “These funds will help provide our students with the resources they need to thrive and also empower both our students and staff to be difference makers in our community, driving positive change within and beyond the classroom.”
Since 2017, Burlington has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to provide over 1.3 million students with school supplies. This initiative is part of Burlington’s holistic community-giving approach, which aims to add value to local communities and empower residents to build a better future. As part of this approach, Burlington adopts and funds local classrooms each time they open a new store.
